The Mirror Touch Tour Review

Even with the forecasted thunderstorms, a good old Friday night show never disappoints. Volumes' "Mirror Touch Tour" at The Waiting Room Lounge on March 6th, 2026, was no exception. With four bands on the lineup, every single one of them gave their all to get the crowd moving.

Reviver got the party started for the night. They are a South Dakota Deathcore band that was a semi-local addition to the lineup, exclusively on the Omaha date of this tour. They were a slightly heavier counterpart of the tour that got the early showgoers to let loose and forget all their troubles from the long week.

Notions was next up on the stage with a refreshing sound and fun stage presence. They are an alternative rock band from Texas, blending rap and R&B features with metal riffs and rhythms. I am a big fan of genre mixing, and I think Notions does it exceptionally well. They even performed a new track that was released the same day of the show, "HEAVYWEIGHT." Notions also took their time on stage as an opportunity to make it clear their stance on current world events by saying "F**k ice." Aside from that, they pointed out many video game references found in their music, with a song titled "METAL GEAR.” Their energy on stage showcased how free spirited people can feel when participating in something they are passionate about. Plenty of mischief occurred on that stage, from the bassist flipping off my camera to the lead singer doing an actual backflip; both incidents happened simultaneously.

Catsclaw further stirred up the energy by encouraging people to crowd surf and get up on the stage. These guys are a Nebraska-based metalcore band, and they know how to get a crowd rowdy. "Perfect Death" was my personal favorite track on their setlist. It has some clean screams and note bends that scratch the brain just right. I also noticed the guitarist had a beautiful 8 string guitar. Many of the bands had stunning setups when it came to their instruments. It was surely a sight to see.

Every single opener did an astounding job preparing the crowd for the main event, Volumes.

Volumes, a California-based band, is back on the scene after roughly 2 years and releasing a new album at the end of 2025. They had quite a diverse setlist with at least one song from each of their albums. Playing some of their most popular tracks, but generally highlighting their most recent album, "Mirror Touch." Much of the setlist was a heavy headbanging moment, but there were songs like "Erased," "Adrenaline," and "Dream," creating more deep emotional moments with their clean vocal segments. Many of these songs have hard hitting lyrics that make you question whether you should scream at the top of your lungs or cry. Though this show was the perfect time to do both. They also threw in a few tracks for the OG fans, such as "Limitless," "Edge of the Earth," and "Wormholes."

These guys were full of movement, the entire band (aside from the drums, of course) jumping and walking back and forth to get their moment with the entire crowd. One of the vocalists, Myke Terry, was truly the definition of having fun and being carefree. He did a lot of mic sharing with fans in the front row who were singing every word to every song, while still acknowledging fans farther back in the crowd. Their sound was on par with their stage presence as well. Solidly done live vocals and screams, drums, and bass that maintain the tempo, along with the guitarist and his killer riffs. My only issue was that I wished they could've played their entire discography.

It was my first time seeing all these bands perform live, and I'm counting down the days until I can see them again. There was never a dull moment musically or energetically. Check out "Volumes" and their album "Mirror Touch," and don't forget to give the openers a listen as well on whatever streaming platform you use!
