Lord Huron
On the beautiful fall night of October 23rd, 2025, Lord Huron took the stage for a sold out show at the Steelhouse Omaha in Nebraska.
Seeing Lord Huron live was truly a cosmic experience. It was a thoughtful production that was meant to tell a story with character dancers and screen projections that brought the whole venue to life. There was a point where the scenery on the screen slowly tilted up and transformed from a bright blue sky to a dark sky full of stars. The transition was so smooth and seamless, I genuinely felt like the stage itself was moving, practically floating in the sky. The extent of the production felt like it was made for an arena capacity show but the Steelhouse is practically a mid-sized venue with a reported capacity of 3,000. My favorite bit of the show was the payphone booth fisheye camera and microphone. It was a fun spin on the prop, along with giving a closer view of Lord Huron singing for the fellow concert goers in the back of the crowd. Additionally, this was probably one of the most diverse setlists I've ever heard live. With twenty-one songs, he played a handful from each of his albums. Flawlessly mixing all of his old work with his most recent album, "The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1," which came out back in July of this year. A good majority of the songs performed were some of my personal favorites, such as "Not Dead Yet," "Nothing I need," and "Ancient Names (Part I)." The set changes were pretty magnificent as well, the vines and bayou scenery from the "Strange Trails" portion was mesmerizing to say the least. The vines wrapped around a string of lights that illuminated and flowed with the songs they were playing. The lights resembled cascading rain– it's overall hard to describe but beautiful to witness. The man himself has a wonderful stage presence as well, with his band matching that presence and presenting a general good vibe that you can't help but dance along to.
If I could go back in time to experience this show again, I would. If you are ever given the chance to see Lord Huron live, you definitely should. The second leg of his US tour this year was wrapped up on November 2nd, but who knows what the future holds. Will there be a Cosmic Selector Vol. 2?
