Appleseed “Listen to me” is out now!

By Mikki Schulz

Appleseed is a small band from Las Vegas, Nevada, comprised of vocalist Molly Gilbert, guitarist Cyenna Nash, bassist Ben Bernstein, and drummer Benji Trujillo. The absolute chilling screams from both Molly and Cyenna on their teaser for “Listen to Me” were bound to garner the attention of thousands– even Hayley Williams. Ben and Benji manage to add a heavy yet groovy bass line to the song through drums and bass too, making the song an interesting musical score. The song “Listen to Me” is now out on all music platforms and does not disappoint compared to the teaser—an absolute repeatable song.

The band Appleseed manages to bring a fresh feeling to the music scene, reminiscent of progressive rock while still maintaining a speculative indie rock sound. The band also has some other notable songs that capture a similar feeling to their new single, “Screws Loose” and “System.” Yet they can also manage to fluctuate to a softer tone, a hint of Midwest emo apparent in “Is it Glow of Street Lights or Heaven?” for both original and acoustic versions of the song.

Appleseed is currently on tour opening for Edgehill, and will also be going on tour with Sunday Cruise soon. Appleseed just mentioned a show of theirs sold out the other night, so make sure to get tickets while you still can, as it seems they're accumulating fans rapidly. Make sure to support the headlining acts as well!

For those who can’t wait to listen to more Appleseed, they just announced their debut album Morning Blue, out November 20th. So hang tight, and catch an Appleseed show in the meantime if you can– and get in the mosh pit!
